Week 31 Science

MONDAY
Today, you will discover how the eye uses light to see at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axpCN6Vj9p0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti8QIfAIqqg

Watch a video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJmVXARWLIY to discover how light energy reacts to opaque, translucent, and transparent objects.

In Student packet, students will complete "See-through materials".

In the comments section, tell me your name and explain how light helps your eyes to see.

TUESDAY
Learn about waves by completing "Waves and Currents" and "Making Waves".

In Comments, tell me your name and explain what a wave's amplitude is.

WEDNESDAY
From yesterday's lesson, review amplitude, wavelength, and frequency of waves.

Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB8w2FvPsBA to see an example of a wave machine.

In Comments, tell me your name and explain how raising the amplitude changes the machine.

THURSDAY
Discover two types of natural resources from which we get energy, renewable and nonrenewable, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLBK1ux5b7U and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kUE0BZtTRc

Play a game to sort natural resources at https://www.brainpop.com/games/sortifynaturalresources/ and, in comments, send your name and your score to me.

  1. Juliana Faulkner: Monday. You must have light to see objects. The light bounces off an object and goes to your eyes. The filters in your eyes filer the amount of light so you can see the object.

  2. Dalton Holloway
I learned that light can help you see because you cant see objects in the dark. You cant see in the dark because there is no light to
    reflect of the object.

I learned that light can help everyone see.because when it is dark we can not see since the light is not reflected on a object or glass and I learned that our eyes can control how much light we can we are suppose to take in.,and our pupils help us see I thought that our Iris help everyone see.ligt help reflecte on objects.

  4. Juliana Faulkner-Tuesday: Amplitude is the length from the top of the crest to the bottom of the trough in a transverse wave.

  5. Hadley Bonner- Monday: I learned that your pupil takes in light. Light reflects off objects and your eye filters the light. Your retina sends electrical pulses to brain for images.

  6. Hadley Bonner- Tuesday: Amplitude is length from top of crest to bottom of wave.

  7. Kiara Washington,A wave amplitude moves energy from one place to another the highest point (crest) and the lowest point (trough).

  8. Dalton Holloway when he changed the amplitude it made the wave get bigger or stronger

  9. Juliana Faulkner-Wednesday: when he raised the amplitude it made the wave get faster and stronger.

Monday:Light is reflected off objects so that your eyes can see them. It`s travels in a straight line to your eyes

Tuesday:Amplitude is the difference between a waves resting position and it's peak.

    Wednesday:It make the wave bigger.

    Thursday:Game score:49

  11. Kiara Washington,The more energy you put on the machine the more waves get bigger.

Mon- light bounces off an object and reflects so you can see.
Tues- Amplitude is how big the wave is from the crest to the bottom.
Wed- Makes the waves bigger and stronger.

  14. Hadley Bonner- Wednesday- it made the waves bigger

  15. Tristan Muir Monday- some stuff is opaque and transparent and
    others translucent
Tues- amplitude is how the wave is form the crest to the bottom
wed- makes the wave bigger and stronger so it goes up and down more

Light enters your cornea and your iris passes the the light to the back of your eyes. Your retina signals your brain to help you see.

A waves amplitude is the distance from rest to peak.

  22. Stevie Ewing
Raising the amplitude makes more energy and makes a bigger wave

Monday: Light strikes objects and it is then reflected back to our eyes.
Tuesday: A waves amplitude is the distance from rest to crest.
Wednesday: When he raised the amplitude it made the wave get bigger and stronger.
    Thursday: Scored a 44.
